Smoothing agents, also known as amino silicone oils or smoothing softeners, are textile softening agents primarily used for finishing cotton, linen, silk, wool, and synthetic fibers such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic, as well as their blends. Applications include textile finishing, yarn processing, leather product release agents, and wig treatment.

The main component is amino-modified organosilicon (CAS 63148-62-0), which imparts a soft, smooth, and full hand feel to fabrics, improving elasticity, drape, and abrasion and wash resistance. The products are mostly weakly cationic, with a 1% aqueous solution pH of 5.0-7.0. They are applied using the impregnation method (1-4% o.w.f.) or padding method (10-30 g/L). They possess water resistance, dry cleaning properties, low yellowing, and dilution stability. Storage temperature is 2-30°C, shelf life is 3-12 months, and packaging specifications include 50kg/drum and 125kg/drum.
