The main components of oxidative desizing agents include strong oxidants, H₂SO₄, and NaOH. These components play a crucial role in the desizing process, and understanding the function and concentration of each component is essential for the correct use of desizing agents.

 

NaOH helps remove plating, but excessive use may damage the base metal. Furthermore, oxidative desizing utilizes oxidants to oxidize and degrade the sizing agent on the fabric into low-molecular-weight soluble oligomers, which are then washed away from the fabric.

 

This method is suitable for removing natural or synthetic sizing agents, primarily for PVA and PVA-based mixed sizing agents, and is suitable for blends of pure cotton and synthetic fibers. Available oxidants include sodium bromite, hydrogen peroxide, sodium chlorite, sodium hypochlorite, perborate, and persulfate. To prevent excessive fiber damage, a certain amount of stabilizer needs to be added to the desizing working solution.
